5 Easy Steps to Help Your Admissions Team Standout from the Crowd this Fall

The start of school means one thing to your admissions office—travel season is about to begin.

Soon, the team will be out on the road, visiting with secondary school placement directors, educational consultants, parents, students and attending secondary school fairs throughout the world. And they’re not alone. The same is true for thousands of other independent schools. Sometimes it is hard to stand out from the crowd.

One way to achieve this when talking to someone about your school is to add visuals to the conversation, and using them to tell a story rather than simply answering the questions. With Vidigami, you can curate photos and videos, and then use them to answer the questions admissions offices get asked the most. Rather than just tell a prospective family or educational consultant about your school’s unique programs, using Vidigami, you can show them using authentic photos and videos of school-wide experiences that are captured every day.

Here are 5 easy steps to use media to dynamically answer the most basic questions:

1 – Get your crew

Make sure everyone in your admissions team have access to Vidigami. To do this, start by creating a new Admissions group in your Group Directory. Then, add you team mates to the group as members, so they too can collaborate – contributing media, curating albums, and more. Remember to create the group under the Internal Category (purple) and set the group to private.

2 – Brainstorm Questions

Gather your team and take 5 minutes to brainstorm all the typical questions they may get while out on the road.

Here are some examples to get you started:

  • “What are your dorms like?”
  • “How is your art program?”
  • “What’s you Hockey team like?”
  • “Do you offer study abroad programs?”

3 – Create Relevant Sets

In Vidigami create shared sets relating to those questions under the private Admissions Group that you and your team would have access to. To do this, simply enable “Sets” in the group’s settings. Navigate to the new Sets tab to create new ones.

4 – Add Media

Go through your Vidigami library to find photos and videos that answer each of those questions and add them to the sets you created. Can’t find the photo your looking for? Grab your phone to take a few, and upload them directly into a new album within your Admissions Group that you can use as a base folder. You can also upload more professional photos that have been edited and upload them from your file manager straight into the Vidigami Uploader in the Web App.

5 – Copy and Go!

Download the Vidigami mobile app to easily access your sets, and hit the road! With pre-populated sets, you’ll be able to quickly pull up relevant photos right from your phone or tablet. And when a student asks about your school’s art program, you’ll be able to quickly pull up photos of student work, the art facilities, and a photo or two of the art faculty.
