EMA 2018 | Highlights from Team Vidigami
By Drew Millikin | September 21, 2018
The Enrollment Management Association’s annual conference is the largest independent school admission focused event on the calendar. This year, it was held in San Diego, and it was the largest yet, with over 1,200 attendees from schools around the world!
It’s always a great time to network, dig deep into the latest trends, get inspired by fantastic keynote speakers, and connect with old friends. Here’s a quick slideshow:
My big three takeaways from the EMA AC:
1 – Vidigami is everywhere!
I was surprised (although I shouldn’t be) at how many schools use Vidigami. Every one of our customers that I spoke with mentioned how much they love the tool and how easy it is to use. Great feedback is always a treat for the team!
2 – The China market is a mystery.
The exponential growth of international schools particularly in China is beginning to impact U.S. boarding and day school markets. It is now more important than ever to make sure that your school is nurturing your current international families. As I wrote in a previous blog, Vidigami can help you on that front.
3 – Retention, Retention, Retention.
Schools are focused more than ever on student retention and parent satisfaction. They are examining programs, forming committees, and doubling up on efforts to improve parent satisfaction. It occurs to me that parent engagement tools like Vidigami can go a long way in those efforts. Engage parents by giving them a view into the daily life of their son or daughter through Vidigami’s private community. You’d be surprised at how snapshots of student life can tell incredible stories!
If you haven’t been to EMA’s Annual Conference, I highly recommend it. It’s not only the largest, but also easily the best conference for independent school enrollment management professionals. See you in Washington, D.C. in 2019!
